Site Relaunch: Welcome To DeGuzman Sports!

Hello Internet! Welcome to the home of DeGuzman Sports!

This website was mainly used as a place for my professional portfolio. Three years ago, I graduated from Syracuse (Go Orange!), looking for a job in sports media, either behind-the-scenes or in front of the camera. Since then, I’ve been blessed to have done both – working in production for NBC Olympics and telling sports stories on-air for two local television stations. (Go to the “About David” section to learn more).

I’ve decided to do a relaunch of this site with an emphasis on the Olympics and the global sports scene. Since graduation, I’ve slowly realized that my passion really lies in following the athletes that most of America only cares about every four years, as well as the ins-and-outs of the Olympic movement and the IOC. This site will be where I get to share that.

My plans are to write about basically anything related to the Olympics and global sports, and there’s a lot to talk about. World championship events, the bidding for the 2024 Olympics, Olympic Agenda 2020, television rights, etc. It’s no coincidence that this relaunch comes at the One Year To Go mark for Rio 2016. Much of the content will focus on that.

I’ll be sharing links and videos, and maybe a podcast or two down the road. I can’t say how often I’ll be able to post. Could be multiple posts a day to once a month. We’ll see.

The site will still be home to my professional portfolio and I look forward to sharing some of the stories I get to do with WHSV as a sports anchor/reporter in the Shenandoah Valley. But I hope you also enjoy the content I’ll be sharing about the ultimate spectacle in sports – the Olympic Games.
